Millions of people have the chance to travel the world and see all of the different things that makes the world so different. There are also people who don't have the money or the time to travel so what do they do? They usually stay at home, watch a movie, go to the local beach, or the camp grounds. Besides traveling the world, other people consider or even prefer for their vacation to be right outside in their backyard or even down the street at a friends or wherever they can go to get away and have some fun to get away from all the stress at home. People also go shopping, out to eat or go for a bike ride. A vacation does not necessarily have to be a trip out of the state or around the country. It can be anywhere away from home that makes a person get away from the things they want to escape. Sometimes a real vacation can cause too much hassle and end up being a nightmare,so its best to stay at home save money, time and energy. A vacation should not have to be work, its supposed to be fun.

I whole-heartedly agree that a vacation doesn't have to be extravagant, as long as you get a chance to get away from the norm in your life it is a good thing.
ReplyDeleteI would however argue that traveling changes people and is beneficial in itself. A vacation to any of our National Parks gives one a sense of history and often offers nature's majestic scenery.
A vacation that truly takes you outside of your usual element is an opportunity for growth while still being a time to recharge those batteries.
Let's not kid ourselves. Those batteries do need recharging! Or, as Slouka might argue, it's okay to let the battery idle for a while.
ReplyDeleteI love this post! I think it is so important to remember that we can all get a little stress relief from living out lives where we actually live. Obviously we can't all go on vacations even once a year, but I know that I need a lot more stress relief than once a year or less! Every couple of weeks I like to be able to do something that I might not normally do, for example, this past week I took my dog to a state park located in North Liberty, IN and we went running. I also let him swim in the lake, and we had a great time. I had so much fun, we went back twice more that week! Sometimes even a bubble bath or a visit to the beach in the summer can be as calming and relaxing as a full-fledged vacation to somewhere exotic. It's all about the mentality. If you go into an experience with a positive attitude and an open mind, you are almost sure to have a great experience. This is also a good reason why it's important to only vacation with people who are positive influences. If you're traveling with someone who isn't in a good frame of mind, they are likely to bring you down with them.
